Lepidolite pseudomorphing after Elbaite$4,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
This fine pseudomorph exhibits a lovely sparkly-pink iridescence or flash to the lepidolite surface. The lepidolite has nearly completely replaced a large, columnar tourmaline! Just a super, and rarely, terminated example of a lithium rich mica somehow replacing a much harder lithium rich tourmaline. These are truly things to puzzle about. Normally, such pseudos are ugly or at least stumpy and uninteresting by and large. This particular piece is colorful, dramatic, geometric - shocking, really, to think about. As an extra bit of interest, it still is embedded by bits of pink tourmaline still present in the hollow section of the crystal (at the base). Found in July 2017.
