Rhodonite with Quartz$4,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Prior to 1991, fine rhodonite specimens were known from only two localities: Franklin, New Jersey and Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia. The style of new rhodonites from Chiurucu is different than that of the old classics. This Chiurucu rhodonite is bladed into parallel or subparallel groups reaching 2.5 cm in length. The luster and translucence is excellent, and the crystals exhibit an intense and robust hot pink color that only came out in this first major find of 1990-1991. Later finds here, of which there were several, were of less color, less crystal size, and less luster. The association with a bit of quartz is unusual and striking. This is a significant miniature from the most significant find of this mine, now 25 years gone.
