Fluorite and Quartz

From one of the premier Fluorite localities in the world comes this stunning combination specimen from the Yaogangxian Mine in China. Full of contrast with milky Quartz crystals and purple to blue zoned transparent Fluorites, this piece has great composition. The sharp, perfectly formed Fluorite cubes are all transparent and display all kinds of wonderful zoning and phantoms! The glassy, colorful, stepped growth, composite Fluorite crystals range in size from 1.5 to 3.5 cm. The parallel growths on these Fluorites pop out from side to side and top to bottom for great geometric effect. Each crystal has a thin and very distinct purple rim that is quite apparent when viewing from various vantage points. The thin, purple exterior zone is followed by a 3 to 4 mm, transparent, pale purple zone followed by a dark purple highlighted phantom, and the large crystal features an ethereal, pale blue, turbid interior that the smaller crystals do not, but the smaller ones have a totally transparent interior that reveals the underlying matrix like an aquarium. All edges and corners of the Fluorite crystals on the display face are in perfect condition. Complementing the Fluorites are several milky Quartz crystals from 2 to just over 4 cm in size that all terminate to the front! Small patches of little, ivory-white Calcite crystals are strategically placed around the Quartz and between the Quartz and Calcite for added aesthetics.
