What an extremely fine, gem crystal of "Imperial" Topaz ON MATRIX from Ouro Preto, Brazil! This is THE classic and historic locality for these prized and distinctly colored Topaz crystals that are more abundant as single crystals and rarely found on matrix. This piece is exceptional in that it's not just "matrix", the 3.2 cm long, mostly limpid Topaz is emplaced on a well-formed, tabular, transparent to translucent Quartz crystal point! This notable Imperial Topaz specimen speaks for itself: sublime golden sherry color with a vitreous luster, a perfect termination on one end and placement on a Quartz crystal! The crystal faces on the Topaz are lustrous with sharp edges and only minor chatter on the exposed edge that doesn't distract. A rare and well composed piece!
