Tsumeb is considered the greatest mine of all time, and one of its signature mineral combinations is Dioptase on Calcite. Here, the gemmy-to-translucent, deep-green Dioptase crystals dance across a bed of tan, gemmy, and sharp Calcite rhombs. The largest Dioptase is 1.6 cm, a significant size for a Dioptase. This large crystal is contacted along the back, but the piece shows itself very nicely, with very little wear or contacting on the presentation side. This is an aesthetic, quality, and representative miniature with unusual style, for this sought-after Tsumeb combination.
