A true classic of mineral collecting, these robust manganite crystals were found in the mid-1880s and remain the world standard for the species 140 years or so later! It is 360 degrees and complete all around. Few specimens had such large crystals and magnificent luster as this fine miniature; it was one of the prides in the German suite of dealer and collector Herb Obodda (early #1489 is glued to the back). When he retired and sold us the collection in 2008, this went to Wally Mann in Dallas. It is one of those absolute old classics that you seldom see in a condition and aesthetic to match modern tastes, making this so special. Herb obtained it from a previous older collection in Europe.
