A world class thumbnail of a very rare phosphate specimens, with balance and color, shape, and a quality at the very top of this find. Excellent and aesthetic thumbnail Hureaulite specimens, like this one, are rare even though a quantity of this formerly very rare species was found in Brazil in one big discovery now nearly 20 years ago in the early 2000s; and this piece originates from the site of that find at the Jacao Claim in the Minas Gerais State of Brazil. This one is unusual too in that it is associated with Correianevesite (brown xls at base). Divergent clusters of translucent pink Hureaulite to 8 mm fan out at the top sides and base of the specimen and small bunches of tiny, 2 to 3 mm, lustrous honey-yellowish Correianevesite crystals. This thumbnail is excellent all around! Hureaulite is an uncommon hydrated manganese phosphate and Correianevesite is a very rare hydrated iron-manganese phosphate. It was originally identified as Reddingite from here, however, most of the "reddingites" from here are Correianevesite (hence old labels are wrong).
