Quartz (Japan Law)
This is a classic and very aesthetic Japan-law twinned Quartz crystals from Nepal, of all places! The lovely, transparent twin is perfect in form and composed of two, lustrous slightly flattened quartz crystals with very faintly developed horizontal striations perpendicular to the c-axis. The twins sit on a small nest of stubby, transparent, 3 mm to 1.2 cm, terminated Quartz crystals for exceptional composition and balance. Moreover, it is a CLOSED twin, which is more rare than an OPEN twin (see google for the difference, but essentially it is like a butterfly with wings open or closed...just a bit of a difference in how the twins orient to one another). The piece sits perfectly on its own for display. Stunning from either side! This is from a famous 2018 find of some of the best known Quartz twins here.
