Truly colorless Fluorite isn't all that common worldwide and this specimen from the prolific Huanggang Mines of Inner Mongolia is a special, choice miniature from a well-known collection with provenance. It consists of two water-clear Fluorites perched exquisitely on a few smaller Fluorite crystals. Both crystals are dominated by octahedral faces, but have distinct cube modifications. The largest crystal measures 3.2 cm across and the other 2.5 cm. Both are glassy, gemmy, and absolutely colorless. Many from these finds over the last decades can be somewhat murky or dull in luster, but not these! This is a superb cluster of Fluorite and the absolute lack of color is what is most startling. It is from finds from around 2010-2013 when such material was coming out of Huanggang, and much was sold to Dr. Steve Smale when we was living and working in Hong Kong during those years. There are a few insignificant veiled inclusions and contacting on the bottom from where the cluster was attached to other Fluorite crystals, otherwise pristine and complete all around, as are all his specimens.
