Hot lemon yellow, translucent crystals to 2.4 and 2 cm in length form a thick, appealing cluster of the gorgeous and rare mineral, Legrandite, from Ojuela Mine. Most such thumbnail examples are single crystals, and clusters are so very rare! Here is a rich, space-filling and volumetric cluster with geometry and the look of a cluster of single crystals without being actually jumbly, if that makes sense to say. It is highly unusual for ANY find of the species. This particular specimen is from the great pocket in November 1977, from which came the Aztec Sun specimen (which we sold to the MIM museum) and the other famous pieces in the Romero Collection, American Museum, and pretty much every other major museum now. It has a characteristic color and look to it, that helps ID the pocket. It also was the personal piece kept back at the time by Mexican-focused collector and author Bill Panczner. Fine thumbnail single crystals are not rare - from this find or a few less significant later finds, but clusters certainly are.
