This is a sharp and distinctive Sturmanite specimen consisting of one prominent crystal and a few subordinate crystals that are all gemmy to translucent. The large and dominant Sturmanite and the smaller ones all have good luster and a wonderful bright yellow color. All of the Sturmanites have a prismatic habit, however, it is very obvious in the large crystal which measures 2.6 cm in length and 1 cm across with a low angle pyramidal termination. This crystal is very gemmy throughout its length that also has a distinct internal shimmer. The four small Sturmanite crystals at the base vary in size from 1 to 1.2 cm in length and are translucent to transparent with one of the crystals having a completely gem termination. This is an exceptional and very displayable thumbnail specimen from 1980s finds at the N'Chwaning II Mine. It is simply one of the best we know of in the size, and is a competition level thumbnail of high impact, made unique because of the contrasts of size and gemminess in the crystals here.
