Intensely colored, rich almost purplish-blue color with incredible saturation, the faces of this azurite rose are lustrous but opaque. It is a sharp rosette of azurites, showing a waxy luster and style that characterized the finest of Mexican Azurite from the old years, and was a direct competitor in quality to Bisbee roses. Ruben Avila spent some effort to acquire azurite roses and we believe he never passed on a good Mexican one, from these 1980s discoveries. This is a perfect miniature. In person, it looks quite different from otherwise similarly shaped crystal clusters from Arizona, and is much more rare.
