Parisite
Huge doubly terminated, pseudo-hexagonal parisite-(Ce) crystal with several smaller side car crystals. Parisite-(Ce) is a calcium-cerium carbonate with fluorine and is a moderately common accessory mineral from the alkaline pegmatites of Mount Malosa. The large crystal measure 4.4 x 4.3 x 4.3 cm and displays the common feature of having tapering prism faces with a flat, well developed pinacoidal termination with the other end exhibiting a partial terminated where it was attached (contacted) in the pocket. The main crystal is rather large for the locality, to say the least! Parisite crystals on this piece are iron stained and slightly etched. Exceptional size for the species and locality!
