Copper (twinned)
A fine toenail cluster of Copper crystals from the 1740 Bench at the Ray Mine in Arizona. This piece is dominated by the very sharp, spinel-twinned Copper crystal that looks like a sail, and the entire specimen has a beautiful, deep copper patina. The piece probably dates to the famous finds of the mid-1970s, and thankfully it was not among the many that were overly cleaned so tha tit retains a natural old patina to the surface. An aesthetic, classic toenail from this well-known Copper locality - hard to find in a thumbnail specimen.
