Zircon
Don't expect a textbook looking Zircon shape with this amazing piece! This gem Zircon crystal from Burma is very unique with its rounded edges, that are not a result of being water worn, growth hillocks on the crystal faces and it's almost melted and wet look! Truly unusual and very aesthetic. Its color is a rich, transparent, brown-yellow with numerous, yellow internal reflections and its luster is off the charts! With these characteristics along with its heft it could almost be confused with Cassiterite. Backlighting reveals its gemminess with a vibrant internal glow! An ultraviolet light source divulges its super bright yellow fluorescence in short wave and a subdued orange in long wave. This dense gem Zircon has a mass of 33.09 grams. It is much better in person as the combination of luster, gemminess, color saturation is hard to convey.
