This is one of the best specimens of the lot, and to my knowledge of the find, in that it actually has matrix aesthetics. It features a fine 3-dimensional cluster of botryoidal native arsenic perched upon a pedestal of white matrix. There is arsenic on both sides, so it displays from either view. This was one of the few matrix specimens recovered from the find, and displays very well. It is an impressive example of native arsenic from any locality, and has about as much aesthetics as you can ask from a gray, elemental species. The contrast is what separates it from other specimens, as well as the large growths. This would be an important native arsenic from any locale. It comes from a large but highly unusual find of pure arsenic in this historic mine, found in summer of 2013. Although we have seen many specimens from this mine, including fine orpiment, I had not previously seen pure native arsenic. Moreover, this is of the quality to rival the old German specimens of native arsenic, which have traditionally sold for far higher prices.
