Quartz included by Hedenbergite (Prasem)$2,250.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Serifos Island is famous in the mineral world, the crystal world, and the metaphysical world all for these gorgeous translucent green crystals of quartz. They are richly included by dilute specks of hedenbergite, which gives the green color. Many are opaque but the best, the very best such as you see here, are translucent! The cluster is complete all around except for the back tips of 2 smaller quartzes (which seem to be contacted as they touched something else but, not broken). The piece is really 3-dimensional and complete, geometric, and sculptural in a way that most are not. We often see tightly packed clusters or singles, but an open cluster like this, so elegant and freestanding, is much more rare. While found intermittently over many hundreds of years, and more, these remain rare in this quality. If you look online, you will see many from China labelled the same as green quartz (or prasem - an old varietal name for this material dating to ancient times). However, the Chinese material is not nearly as elegant or translucent, even at its best. Prasem is, in the mineral world, usually referring to specifically hedenbergite-included quartz from Russia, Greece, and China; and not to green quartz due to other inclusions.
