This is a shockingly large plate of this formerly rare species, and even with a thousand new pieces coming to the market from Yunnan Province in the last 5-6 years, this older specimen eyt remains important for the overall size and richness. These were said to come from one small find in the Malipo copper-rich area of Yunnan Province, around 2010 or 2012 if i recall. However, we were never entirely sure about the exact location - and then they stopped coming out. I kept this one in my own personal Chinese mineral collection since then, as one of the richest examples known , and it remains so. The surface is coated by perhaps a thousand small crystals forming a rich velvety carpet, and is a really different style of crystal and matrix from the more modern discoveries. To be perfectly honest, i suspect this might be the earliest example from the "new location" of Sanguozhuang, Dongchuan District, Kunming, Yunnan, China; but we will go with the original location attributed due to the original source seeming quite confident. Sometimes such things are hard to pin down, particularly with early Chinese finds.
