Azurite (Easter Pocket)
These unique tabular crystals of azurite come from a single famous find, the Easter Pocket on the 8th level of Tsumeb Mine in 1994. Here we have a large presentation piece from the pocket showing a vertically displayed crystal of the classic and weird style for the find, 3.5 cm across. It stands nice and proud, and is complete all around. Note the trace of translucent zone around the edge of the crystals, indicative of the pocket. One of the last named pockets of any kind from this mine before it closed, they are very hard to come by. Formerly in the collections of Marshall and Charlotte Sussman of Chicago (at the time, although most people today know them as Tucson collectors), sold to collector Marc Weill in 2005 or so, and now back on the market.
