Proustite In Nickeline
Proustite is exceptionally rare for Canada, and for this district in particular. Here is a large piece riddled with prousite crystals! Massive dark gray nickeline is the matrix for vugs of twinned 2 mm across calcite, upon which, is emplaced, a series of slender, elongated, bright red, acicular, lustrous, gemmy, proustite crystals. The proustite crystals reach almost 1 cm in length and traverse the length of the open pockets of the specimen. p>
