Fluorite, Rhodochrosite
This mine is renowned for its superb pink Rhodochrosite specimens which are sometimes associated with green Fluorites. Typically the Fluorites from the Sunnyside mine are octahedral in habit, but this piece exhibits a somewhat complex crystal habit showing cube, octahedron and dodecahedron faces which are oriented into octahedral forms. The crystals are a light green shade with good translucency and have a minor sprinkling of Chalcopyrite around them. The best aspect of this piece is the fact that the Fluorites are sitting atop pink Rhodochrosite. Ex. Richard Kosnar Collection.
