Fluorite, Quartz (Var: Amethyst)
Clusters of gem, yellow fluorite cubes to 6 mm are scattered on the vuggy, 3-dimensional, amethyst matrix on this fine and uncommon combination specimen from Thunder Bay, Ontario. There is also pink, bladed baryte on this piece. Thunder Bay is world-renowned for amethyst and to see starkly contrasting, yellow gem fluorite cubes on purple amethyst is a very pleasant surprise.
