Epistilbite
Lustrous, translucent, colorless epistilbite blades fill the sculptural vug in basalt matrix on this fine piece from a classic Iceland locale - Fossarfell. The interesting, free-standing, stepped-growth, isolated crystal is 1.5 x 1.0 cm. Epistilbite is a relatively uncommon zeolite group mineral and this is a highly representative specimen from this locale.
