Uranocircite

Not only an incredibly fine specimen of a rare uranium mineral from a very old classic locality, but beautiful at that! The yellow-green clusters measure up to around .8 cm across. NOT your average German specimen with a few jumbly spots of meta-autunite. It was deaccessioned from the A.E. Seaman Museum some years ago (pers. co mm with George Robinson), where it was analyzed and suprisingly found to be uranocircite and not meta-autunite. These specimens show wonderful bright color and finely-formed crystals. This one shows really nice separation of the sheaf-like clusters, and good coverage; a really super toenail specimen of this relatively rare mineral. 3 x 2.8 x 1.8 cm
