Calcite, Chalcopyrite
Slate-gray sharp points of calcite measuring up to 3.1 cm in length are richly encrusted with a drusy iridescent chalcopyrite coating. Not only is there a color contrast but a very nice texture contrast. This is classic material for the Brushy Creek mine, which was worked briefly in the mid-1900s and also in a more recent specimen-mining venture by Joe Kielbaso and friends in the late 1980s. Which find this came from I cannot say. Ex. Jim Minette and Jack Halpern Collections.
