Fairfieldite
Fairfieldite is a rare phosphate, with outstanding specimens such as this thumbnail coming from the well-known Foote Mine. Unusually large for the locality, this 1.6 cm rosette is translucent to gemmy and quite lustrous. Sitting on a white, crystalline matrix (possibly Quartz, which would rare for Foote), this specimen is balanced and aesthetic, and is a superb combination for the locality in every respect. From 1970s-1980s finds and collection of Jack Eaker, the mine chemist and analysis shop manager. This well-known lithium-bearing granite pegmatite is no longer being actively mined. Best thumbnail I have seen of the material, for composition and quality!
