Zincite
New Jersey, at the turn of the 1900s, produced what are still regarded as the world's best zincite crystals. This is a ruby-red, sharp, complete crystal of unusual stereotypical crystal form. As described in the recent issue of Mineralogical Record devoted to zincite, this is quite simply one of the best thumbnails of this material to have survived. It certainly dates to the early 1900s or late 1800s. I was lucky enough to obtain this in a small thumbnail collection which surfaced in 2013. Joe Budd photos.
