Spessartine Garnet
Covered in growth striations, this complete floater of spessartine is glassy and gemmy with a rich reddish-orange color and highlights. It is unusually robust for its size, in thickness and mass (34 grams). Complete and mezmerizing in complex patterns, all around! Despite its thickness it is wine-red and fully translucent throughout, when backlit. This photo shows only moderate backlighting, even.
