Epistilbite, Quartz (Var: Amethyst)
Epistilbite is much less common than stilbite from the Deccan Traps of India and this is a fine combination specimen from Jalgaon. A 1.7 cm, saw-tooth-like cluster of glassy, translucent, colorless, parallel-growth epistilbite crystals is set in a curved vug in basalt matrix filled with very glassy, transparent, light purple amethyst crystals. Ex. Dr. Steve Smale Collection.
