I have been fortunate, over the years, to have held in my hands some of the finest Chamonix fluorites, and yet I’ve always declined buying one because of the presence of some flaw—dull edges, cleaves, lack of luster, or weak red color. During the Covid pandemic I at last found this one—the specimen of my dreams—with none of those shortcomings. Nothing beyond cleaning has been done to this piece.
