Source special issue: flawless-beauty, PDF page: 138. Label: Figure 147. Emerald beryl, 7.8 cm, from the La Pita mine, La Pita, Maripí Municipality, Boyacá Department, Colombia. One of three great crystals with similar color and quality recovered from the La Pita mine (the other two are in the Mim Mineralogical Museum in Beirut and in Gene Meieran’s collection). Exhibited at the Gemological Institute of America offices for three years; illustrated on the cover of Esmeralda (2018), published by the National Emerald Federation of Colombia.
