Fluorite
From below, you can see that this Weardale specimen is a cluster of purple fluorite that has grown as a knob around a piece of matrix extending into a pocket; later, quartz crystals covered the surface of the fluorite cluster. At the top of the cluster is a large fluorite crystal (4 cm) that has been encased in quartz, and a purple face shows through the quartz on the display face. Ex.
