Azurite rose
This specimen is from the 1980s-early 1990s finds of "Morenci Roses," clusters of sharp and royal blue azurite that brought back memories of those found circa 1900 from Bisbee, only seen in museums and old collections. This is a particularly well formed and complete cluster of radiating crystals, 360 degrees complete, in fact. It is a floater. It is a little different from others in that it is more complicated and more open in its "petals" than most, more like a different kind of flower than a rose per se, while others seem to have simpler shapes. The Ruben Avila collection had a wonderful suite of these classic azurite roses from both Mexico and Arizona.
