Rhodochrosite with Fluorite

Full thumbnail-sized Sweet Home rhodos, that are superb thumbnail specimens and not just "small rhodochrosites that fit in a Perky Box," are actually not common now and really never have been. Try finding one now… it is difficult, to say the least, to get anything of such quality as was found in the late 1990s here. This specimen is a gemmy, with razor sharp edges, and large (for a TN) rhodochrosite rhomb that is highly lustrous and complete all around. As an accent, it has a little cluster of pale lavender fluorites perched atop! Very, very minor edge wear is seen in the photo and on close exam, though you have to be close indeed to see it. Ex Bill Logan collection (a notable collector of all things rhodochrosite).
