Amethyst

The Pohndorf is a classic USA locality, located in western Montana and prized for the very transparent and gemmy sceptered amethyst crystals found there. This little jewel it is actually complete on bottom, though contacted slightly in back. I am not sure what the odd, flat white inclusion is in the center of the crystal - presumably a strange quartz growth.
