Sphalerite (Gemstone)
A fancy orange round gemstone of cut sphalerite, from old finds of sphalerite crystals from this classic European locality. Stones of this size, clean and well cut, are extremely rare on the market and this is one that cannot be purchased in Spain today. The quality of rough that produced this, the gemminess, simply does not come out now. In fact, any large cut gems from here over 50 carats were fairly uncommon and also should date from the 1990s or before, or the last great find in 2002 perhaps. This goes very well with the old (found in 2002) crystallized gem specimen we also offer in the update. 51.03 carats
