Vesuvianite var. Manganoan
Stunning NEON purple vesuvianite only came out of a small pocket area in the late 1980s and specimens of the top quality, such as this, are seldom seen for sale. This has glassy luster and a sharp termination, and is complete all around. It is a fine, showy specimen for what it is for shape and size and species — but at the end of the day it is that glowing, incredibly saturated color that is what the eye goes to. In any thumbnail collection, this will leap out. The color is nearly unreal for nature.
