Cornetite and Malachite
It's easy to get lost in this sparkling admixed carpet of blue Cornetite with Malachite from the late 1990s finds at the Star of the Congo mine (L'Etoile du Congo) in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Tiny scintillating microcrystals of rich dark blue Cornetite and green Malachite combine to form an enticing and exotic combination specimen. Cornetite is a relatively rare copper phosphate hydroxide and this fanciful combination specimen is exceptional for the species! Ex. Gilbert Gauthier inventory from the late 1990s when he brought them to Tucson. Scintillating in person, hard to convey in photos.
