Gypsum (Var: Selenite)
An aesthetic and pristine specimen of lustrous, transparent to opaque, brown gypsum blades from the famous Great Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge, near Jet, Oklahoma. Many of the crystals are doubly terminated and have "hourglass" sand inclusions, for which the locality is renowned for. This is an excellent, old-time example from the Dennis Mullane Collection and dates from the 1950s to early 1970s.
