Baryte
A historic, old-time and fine cabinet baryte specimen from Missouri. Two large, opposing rosettes of bladed baryte are sculpturally set on sturdy, mounded gossan matrix. The large rosette is 8.3 cm across. The piece is from the Palmer Mine of Washington County, southwest of St. Louis and in the old St. Joe or Missouri Lead District. Mined certainly prior to 1900. Ex. George Feist Collection.
