Fukang Meteorite (with Peridot)
This is a polished slab of pallasite, a stony iron meteorite with greenish yellow olivine (peridot) inclusions. In thin sections the olivine can be gemmy. The mass is 12 grams. The Fukang meteorite is a meteorite that was found in the mountains near Fukang, China in 2000. These are incredibly rare on the market and I have found few for sale in a decade. I buy the good ones when I can, and resell larger ones in China quite well. It is a pallasite type of stony iron meteorite with olivine crystals. It is estimated to be 4.5 billion years old (Wikipedia). Total known weight: 2,211 lbs., Found date: 2000
