Quartz (Var: Smoky Quartz), Goethite, Onegite
A striking, cabinet specimen from Colorado of two, interestingly angled, differently shaped smoky quartz crystal coated with sparkly goethite needles. The spiky smoky quartz also has rare onegite crystals, which is an early name for hair-like inclusions of goethite in amethyst. This is an excellent, complete-all-around specimen. Collected in 2000 from the Dragon/Torch Pocket at the Dreamtime Mine. Ex. Adam Sotomayor, who collected it.
