Kermesite with Paakkonenite
Bright, lathe-like, gray metallic crystals of kermesite, an uncommon antimony, sulfur, oxide, form a robust group of crystals with an aesthetic divergent pattern. The crystals reach 9 cm in length. I have not seen or had a good one of these for sale since 2005 - this was ONE POCKET that came out somewhere in the early 2000's, and we have not seen any more since of this magnitude that made them the world's largest examples of the species by far. An uncommon antimony, sulfur, oxide, kermesite occurs at other locales but a smaller and more acicular crystals. These are simply shocking for the species. This particular specimen has very thick crystals, even for this find. As a bonus, a rich coating of Paakkonenite coats a concave space on the backside.
