Fluorapatite
Gemmy, purple Pulsifer Fluorapatites are certainly the most sought-after Fluorapatites in the United States, and are among the most desirable in the world. This pair of sharp, doubly-terminated crystals has shades of the classic purple color. There is an intense purple band that goes through the middle of each of the gemmy crystals, with the beautiful, beveled terminations being a lighter shade of purple. The luster is very good, and the form outstanding. The larger crystal is 8 mm, and the color, of course, is alluring. A very good, aesthetic toenail that well-represents these famous Fluorapatites. The terminations have a mild yellow-orange fluorescence. Unusual matrix presentation makes this a fine USA miniature from a famous find of 1968-1969.
