Chkalovite (rough and cut set)
1.9 x 1.1 x 0.7 cm (Specimen); 0.48 carats; 4.38 mm (Gem) - Chkalovite is a rare sodium beryllium silicate that is rarely found it gem quality specimens. The stone in this rough and cut set is admittedly a smaller stone, but for rare gem collectors, this is a great opportunity to add this piece to your collection. I'm told that this stone is close to 20 years old, and good material is rarely available for facetting. This "Round" cut gem has some very very slight inclusions, but I think one can forgive the fact that the gem is not 100% clean based upon the incredible scarceness of the material. The rough is exactly as it sounds, as it's a crystalline piece of white Chkalovite that pairs up nicely with the stone.
