Manganite
An excellent, old-time cluster of highly lustrous, striated, jet-black manganite prisms superbly perched on massive manganite matrix. Literally old time - these were found in the world-class finds of the late 1880s, and still retain their crown as best of species about 120 years later. The crystals reach 2.7 cm. These old pieces came out in about 1886-1888 (per Bancroft's book) .
