Stibnite
With all the stibnite that has come out of the Wuling Antimony Mine - the bright, elongated blades - it is easy to get jaded about Chinese stibnite. But these Guizhou pieces are TOTALLY different, and quite a bit rarer! They are spectacular to look at, arranged in porcupine sprays, as this one. This ball of crystals is perched on the edge of a ridge of matrix. The ball measures 5.5 cm across. The luster of these is closer to the Romanian ones than the Wuling ones, and some actually prefer this gunmetal luster.
