Kyanite
Kyanite usually appears as opaque, rather boring crystals embedded in quartz, so when these came out two or three years ago they caused quite a stir: gemmy, terminated, free-standing crystals, some of them with an amazing blue stripe running right down the middle, a truly dramatic example of crystal zoning. This is a LARGE crystal from the find, with a good, clean termination on top (they can be pretty rough even when natural and undamaged) and a very distinct blue stripe. 6.1 x 0.8 x 0.4 cm
