Harmotome
A classic, old-time specimen of lustrous, pearlescent harmotome crystals to 2.0 cm on mounded matrix from the Bellsgrove Mine at Strontian, Scotland. Harmotome is a rare zeolite group mineral and many of the crystals are cyclic twins, including the largest, prominently placed large crystal. A fine specimen. New ones came out recently in the late 1990s, but the older ones, to my mind, are better as they have more robust and isolated crystals as you see here. Ex. Jamie Bird Collection, a California collector from the 1960s-1980s.
