Sphalerite
Another first class thumb, this one a GEM yellow sphalerite from New York. Such pieces are extremely rare and this is one of the best of any size that I have seen or know of from this zinc mine. It is nearly pristine, is gemmy all through, and has a bright color that is easily seen without any backlighting at all, just like yellow glass! Thumbnail, 2.75 x 1.75 x 1.5 cm
